This training is based on Pilates methods with exercises to develop a strong “core,” or center of the body using a floor mat. The physical movement performed in the exercises keys on an active mind and value quality of movement over the quantity through repetitions. By focusing on the quality of breathing, along with gaining flat abdominals and a strong back, it helps you execute movements with balanced power and efficiency improving your muscle elasticity and joint mobility.
The core consists of the deep abdominal muscles along with the muscles closest to the spine. Control of the core is achieved by integrating the trunk, pelvis and shoulder girdle in the carrying out the exercises and by emphasizing a proper breathing, correct spinal and pelvic alignment, and concentration on smooth, flowing movement, it helps you become in tune with your body.

Please note: This training is precautionary toward injuries by working towards a body with balanced strength and flexibility, but it does not include specific rehabilitation exercises.

A variety of movement studies has given me a wide spread of experience, which influences my dancing and training. Here the overall focus is to create an environment of movement investigation and to stimulate awareness towards the diversity of movement principles. With classic modern - Hordon and Graham - techniques in the backhand the training is based on “release” integrating more physical and acrobatic elements of contemporary. It is built up around the common structure of modern dance training with exercises to active align, mobilize and strengthen the body. Center- and floor work encourages awareness of natural principles such as body weight, center of gravity and conditional placement to enhance efficiency in motion. The class progresses into spatial travel combination and movement phrases, which challenges the notion of contemporary dance.
Most importantly it stimulates the aim of having fun dancing.
